Some character designs for 'The Little Rose Shoes'

I developed the characters for Los Zapaticos de Rosa (The Little Rose Shoes) using Illustrator. At first I used Photoshop, but Illustrator is much better because it uses vectors which means the image quality is kept for Animation and the parts of drawings can be animated later. These are Some of the characters.

Sketches of movement

I do drawings like these all the time, simple quick line sketches of movement, of walking, running, of dance, all kinds of movement. I do them just for fun. It helps me prepare ideas for animation and analyse movement.

My Studio - Animation Studio El Iyawo

Since we moved into this house in July 2011, I have been preparing the space as a professional animation studio for my work as a professional animator. This is the stage area I created for photography and film, with a blue- screen background, so I can drop in other backgrounds. I have some computer kit and a glass table for stop-motion. This show an architect's drawing table that I picked up for £5 at car boot sale, I use this a lot for drawing.

Stop motion ideas for Zapaticos

Firstly I created and animated a butterfly character using Stop motion techniques for the Los zapaticos de Rosa project title sequence. I also prepared some models for characters and tried out some ideas in stop motion.

Here's one clip - The Mother
